Meet the skills maintenance requirements for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) with NECA Education & Careers. Restricted Electrical Licence holders are required by Energy Safe to attend a free CPD training session before licence renewal.
This is a one-day course for Class 1 licence holders and a half-day course for Class 2 licence holders.
You can only complete CPD training two years prior to your licence expiry date – don’t leave it until the last minute.
For example, if your licence is due to expire on 13 August 2025, you can complete the CPD training any time between 13 August 2023 and 12 August 2025.
Continuing Professional Development is how the knowledge, skills, and competence of electrical licence holders are maintained, improved, broadened, and enhanced.
The Skills Maintenance training will be specific to every class of licence, and will be mandatory for every electrical licence held.
The course comprises approximately 60% practical work.
