To become a Licensed Electrical Inspector you will need to pass three assessments. This is where we can help, by preparing you for these.

Licensed Electrical Inspectors Theory (LEIT) G Class License

This component of the Licensed Electrical Inspectors course prepares the student for the LEIT component of the licensing assessment.

Topics include:

  • Electrical & personal safety
  • AS/NZS3000
  • AS/NZS3008.1.1
  • Other relevant AS/NZS Standards, AS/NZS 3012, AS/NZS 3013 & AS/NZS 4836
  • Electricity Safety (Installations) Regulations
  • Voltage Drop
  • Selection of cables installed singular or in parallel
  • Residual Current Devices (RCDs) types & applications
  • Multiple Earthed Neutral (MEN) System of earthing in individual outbuildings & combined outbuildings
  • Protection overload and short-circuit current
  • Prospective fault current & discrimination.

Licensed Electrical Inspectors Practical (LEIP) G Class License

This component of the Licensed Electrical Inspectors course prepares the student for the LEIP component of the licensing assessment.

Topics covered include:

  • Electrical & personal safety
  • Testing requirements in accordance with AS/NZS3000 Wiring Rules
  • Visual defects
  • Testing of Low Voltage Single-phase Installations
  • Testing of Low Voltage, Three-phase Installations
  • Testing of single & multiple occupancy installations
  • COES and ESV defect list.

Licensed Electrical Inspectors Prescribed Inspection (Safe Approach) G Class License

This component of the Licensed Electrical Inspectors course prepares the student for the LEISA component of the licensing assessment.

Topics covered include:

  • Electrical & personal safety
  • Safe approach
  • Inspection & testing of a green field site
  • Inspection & testing of the consumer mains
  • Inspection of the electrical installation including main switchboard and associate electrical equipment
  • Certificates of Electrical Safety (COES) & ESV Defect List.

Please do not book your assessment until you have completed your licensing tutorials.

Nil, however, strongly recommended to have held an Electrician’s Licence for a period if at least 5 years.  Refer to ESV website for further information.
