The NETS qualification develops competence of tradespeople within the battery storage industry.
NECA Education & Careers is a participant in a pilot program developed by the industry in response to the upcoming demand for residential solar battery installations by consumers.
The pilot is developing new course resources and implementing a new visual learning and teaching approach prior to, during and after class. This means learners will have access to short videos to support training, retention and synthesis of information as well as scenario-based learning and interactive case studies.
After completing their studies, learners will access information and updates to keep abreast of the on-going changes in the ‘new energy’ storage sector.
The pilot will undertake an independent evaluation of the resources and training effectiveness at various intervals, requiring students, educations and industry stakeholders to participate in surveys and/or interviews.
Parallel to learners undertaking the course, the pilot will execute a comprehensive communication campaign to education consumers about the importance of seeking out accredited battery installers.
The pilot is led by Future Energy Skills and validated and endorsed by industry stakeholders; Clean Energy Council, Smart Energy Council, Gippsland Solar, Energy Safe Victoria, National Electrical and Communications Association, Electrical Trades Union and the Country Fire Authority.
