The purpose of the OHS Managers/Supervisors Training is to provide you as the OHS Managers/Supervisor the following learning outcomes:

  • Understand the legal framework for occupational health and safety
  • Describe the roles and powers of the key workplace parties in the OHS Act 2004
  • Understand the role of Managers/Supervisors as per the OHS Construction Regulations 2017
  • Understand the role of Managers/Supervisors, responsibilities and legal obligations
  • Understand the role of the OHS Representatives (HSR) and their powers as per the OHS Act 2004 and OHS Regulations 2017 in the workplace
  • Develop skills to participate in workplace consultation, issue resolution and negotiation.
  • The role of Managers/Supervisors in the identification, assessment and control of hazards and risks in the workplace
  • Introduction of the use of information on hazard identification on Manual Handling, Hazardous Substances/Dangerous Goods, Noise, Working at Heights and Plant Regulations
  • Emergency prevention strategies and response procedures
  • Incident Reporting
  • Electrical Safety
  • Cost of Incidents / Accidents
  • WorkSafe Injury Insurance
