NECA Education & Careers, the leading trainer of electrical apprentices in Victoria, are proud to be among the first to identify the skills needed to address the future of clean energy in Australia. Together with Federation University, NECA Education & Careers will commence the first dual electrical qualification.
Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations Brendan O’Connor highlighted this groundbreaking initiative between NECA Education & Careers and Federation University at the National Press Club of Australia recently. “Many of the jobs we will need for our clean energy future straddle traditional trades and professions. A pilot program for example combines an electrical engineering degree with a Certificate III electrical trade apprenticeship. Federation University is planning to launch an apprenticeship with NECA to provide a Cert III in parallel with an Electrical Engineering degree. This is important work but we need to ensure that these types of programs are the norm, not the exception,” Minister O’Connor said.
“NECA Victoria deeply appreciates Minister Brendan O’Connor’s recognition. NECA is committed as an industry body to foster innovation and collaboration, bridging traditional trades and modern professions. This endorsement fuels our determination to empower the next generation of professionals for a sustainable future.” Said NECA Victoria’s Executive Director, Pawel Podolski.
NECA Education & Careers CEO, Gideon Perrott, said “we are looking forward to partnering with more Universities and TAFEs to better skill the next generation of industry professionals.”
