Awards 2021 – Celebrating at the MCG

Over 220 guests enjoyed fine dining and entertainment from jazz extraordinaires The Mal Sedergreen Ensemble at our 2021 Awards held at the MCG on 18 March.

Apprentices, Trainees, Host Employers, NECA Education & Careers Board, families, friends and staff enjoyed an evening which started with pre-dinner drinks, entertainment from a funky emerging jazz trio and awesome views of the MCG from the Betty Cuthbert lounge.

NECA Education & Careers’ Darin Jewell and Adisa Husanovic were joint MCs for the evening and after everyone was seated at the twenty two beautifully decorated tables, Chairman Steven Herbert gave an opening address.

Try Your Trade Women’s expo – great success

Banners, goody bags and enthusiastic staff welcomed women interested in electrical careers to our Carlton North trade school on Sunday 6 March

Excited with the chance to experience the practical side of electrical work, the twenty five participants together with parents, carers and friends engaged with teachers and mentors learning about key aspects of the Certificate III Electrotechnology course and electrical career.

Minister The Hon. Lily D’Ambrosio toured the workshop, chatted with participants and learnt about the Women and Their Trade (WaTT) partnership with Apprenticeships Victoria from John Taufer, our General Manager.

The day was so successful it was oversubscribed with the planning for the second Try Your Trade well underway.
