Have you heard about our new Telecommunications Traineeship?

The Hon. Gayle Tierney, Minister for Training and Skills

For more than 25 years, the Group Training Organisation within NECA Education & Careers has connected the electrical industry with apprentices who have gone on to become qualified electricians while making a positive contribution to their host employer.

Along the way, we realised that we weren’t able to provide long-term solutions to host employers who work primarily in the extra low voltage space, so we decided to change that!

Josh Connolly has been the supervisor for Telecommunications trainee Max Menon since he joined the Fredon team 2 months ago. Josh had a lot of praise for Max, saying he was “keen, eager and takes direction well.” Max came in towards the end of the rough-in process of a large project at the Melbourne Conservatorium at the University of Melbourne, which is enabling him to experience all the stages of a project.

“He’s been really good, he’s definitely showing genuine interest in the project and also in his role.” Josh appreciated the way Max has boosted morale within the team and provided a fresh set of eyes on site. He recommends other businesses taking on a telecommunications trainee, saying that there hadn’t been any downsides.

If you specialise in voice, data, audio visual, telecommunications or security, to name a few, consider leasing a trainee. NECA Education & Careers will handle recruitment, and over the course of the 12-24 month traineeship we will take care of payroll, super and WorkCover, while one of our Industry Careers Consultants stays in touch to keep things running smoothly.

We’re excited to continue expanding the ways we help people build their careers, so what are you waiting for? Give back to the industry and support the next generation of technicians – your trainee might become your next superstar employee!
