On Friday 6 September Daniela Feldman attended the 2019 Victorian Training Awards with a team of support built up during her Business Traineeship.
Her colleagues from the Department of Premier and Cabinet, and Stacey Fedden and Nick Feretis from NECA Education & Careers, all worked closely with Daniela throughout her traineeship.
“Even now I talk to them quite regularly which is really nice to have that support and connection still after my traineeship has been completed.” Daniela said of the continuing relationships she formed with Stacey and Nick. As her former Industry Careers Consultants Stacey and Nick were proud to see Daniela be recognized for her efforts and all she had achieved throughout her traineeship.
Daniela applied for a traineeship after deciding that the university model of teaching and learning wasn’t for her. She completed her Business Traineeship with NECA Education & Careers in the Victorian Government. Daniela was seconded more than once and received an ongoing role in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
After receiving her finalist certificate at the Victorian Training Awards Welcome Reception at Crown Palladium, Daniela had a while to wait for Trainee of the Year to be announced, as it was the second last award of the night.
Trainee of the Year is awarded by the Department of Education & Training to a trainee who has shown outstanding achievement in their field. The three finalists were business trainees, demonstrating the variety of the qualification and the value of the business traineeship in the workforce.
Daniela can’t recommend traineeships highly enough. “I feel like the traineeship is a really good stepping-stone into a department or organisation and then you can really take it from there.”
Daniela is now representing Victoria as Trainee of the Year Finalist in the Australian Training Awards, held on Thursday 21 November in Brisbane. We wish her the best!
